In a previous post on this blog I wrote about the Zamba for clarinete and piano by the Argentine composer Viviana Danon. Now, I want to present another beautiful composition of his authorship, entitled "Atardecer en Villa Elisa" (Sunset in Villa Elisa) also for clarinet and piano. Both works were composed in 2022 to premiere at a concert at the 5th Latin American Congress of Clarinetists, organized by Clariperu Latin America.

Let's see what the composer says about Atardecer en Villa Elisa for clarinet and piano:
"A few years ago, a friend of mine who lived in the province of Córdoba asked me to send him a "sound image" of where I live (Villa Elisa, Buenos Aires Province) because he was having vision problems.
At that moment, the first part of this melody emerged, inspired by the calm of a summer sunset. I then decided to complete it, taking it to a characteristic A B A form. At this stage, there was significant collaboration with Gabriel Blasberg, who contributed a wealth of creativity to the composition of the piece, serving the clarinet's qualities in terms of register, timbre, and expressive potential.".
