Biography
He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Coming from a family of musicians, he began his career at the age of 9 when he joined the Children's Choir of the Teatro Colón and began to study music at home. He completed his formal studies at the National Conservatory of Music "Carlos López Buchardo" graduating in 1989 as Music Superior Professor specializing in Clarinet in the chair of Mtro. Mariano Frogioni, as the best average of his promotion. He completed his training with the Mtro. Luis Rossi and several advanced courses and masterclasses.
He was a scholarship holder of the Antorchas Foundation (from 1989 to 1991) and of Camping Musical Bariloche, taking courses in Musical Interpretation with the Modern Ensemble (Germany), the Mtros. Nicolás Chumachenco (Poland), Alberto Lysy and the Argentine Mozarteum Wind Quintet, among other teachers, as well as Musical Analysis and History of Music.
At the age of 14 he joined his first symphonic orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Argentine Catholic University, and later was a member of many others, such as the Latin American Orchestra of Musical Youth (Uruguay in 1985 and Colombia in 1990), Symphonyc Orchestra of Avellaneda, National Radio Youth Symphonic Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra of Argentina. In 1991 he participated in the first Spanish tour by the National Symphonic Orchestra and was invited to play with the CIDESIN Symphonic Band of San Jose, Costa Rica as principal clarinet. In 1989, he joined the Buenos Aires Symphonic Band, where from 2016 to the present he holds the position of Principal Clarinet.
As a soloist, he performed in important venues in Buenos Aires (Centro Cultural Kirchner, Usina del Arte, Salón Dorado del Teatro Colón, Congreso de la Nación, Legislatura de Buenos Aires, Teatro Gran Rivadavia, Facultad de Derecho, etc.), and in live radio and TV shows. As a chamber musician, he has developed extensive activity in the most diverse instrumental combinations, also premiering numerous works by contemporary composers from Argentina.
In recent years he has performed as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the National Congress, the Buenos Aires Symphonic Band, the Mar del Plata Symphonic Band, the Vientos del Sur Symphonic Band, the Clarinet Ensemble of the Province of Buenos Aires, the Municipal Band of San Martin, the Symphonic Orchestra of Pilar and the Symphonic Orchestra of San Isidro.
In 2025 he performed the world premiere of "Desde el Malecón" (From the Malecón), a Central American Suite for solo clarinet and band, by the Argentine composer Esteban D'Antona, a work that was dedicated to him.
He was awarded in musical competitions, such as the Coca-Cola in Arts and Sciences Contest (1988), V Banco Mayo Foundation Argentine Music Contest (1989) and III Buenos Aires International Music Contest ( year 1999), the latter in the Chamber Music category.
For more than thirty years he has dedicated himself to teaching, giving classes in clarinet and group courses in chamber music to musicians of all instruments.
In recent years, he has taught online group classes and given talks on "Musical Performance for Clarinetists," "How to Prepare a Musical Performance with Backing Track," and "How to Optimize Clarinet Study." He has also been invited to various programs on Radio Nacional Clásica and websites for various interviews and talks about music.
Between 2001 and 2010, he created and edited the electronic classical music newsletter Claves Musicales (Musical Keys), distributed via e-mail, which received the declaration of "Cultural Interest" from the Secretariats of Culture of the Argentine Nation and the City of Buenos Aires.
In the field of popular music, he joined the group Vai Passar dedicated to Brazilian music, recording a disc in 2016 (it can be heard at this Spotify link ).
Nowadays, he’s the Country Chair for Argentina in the International Clarinet Association (ICA) and is member of the team of the Clariperu Latin America association.
He is an official artist of RZ (clarinet brand from the Czech Republic) and Gonzalez Reeds (Argentina).
