Musical Interpretation Classes for Clarinetists

​ Specific work to improve the interpretive part of the music you play.
Using different tools: classes via Zoom, exchange of audio/video messages, talks, exercises, homework.

  • Phrasing, its foundations. Phrasing with logical sense and at the same time with freedom. Fluidity, naturalness. Find your personal style.

  • Score, how to understand it and take into account the relativity of what is written.  

  • Appropriate music, use our ears and memory to internalize what we play.

  • Musical discourse: relate the notes in time.

  • Relate the Melody with the Harmony.

  • Breathing. Incorporate it into the music.

  • Rhythm. Play accurately but naturally. Sense of pulse and compass.

  • Dynamic. The written nuances and all their relativity.

  • Joint. Tool to give more shape to sentences.

  • Seek body comfort when playing.

  • Form of the work, a very important aspect to take into account.

  • Ornaments. How to run them.

  • Understand the function of each note you play. Distinguish between main melody, backsong, accompaniment, etc.

  • Tempo changes: speeding up, slowing down. How to internalize and execute them.
